New music all the way with two featured albums from Michael Dease and Trevor Giancola….and some great new releases from the Caligola Records label

  • HOUR ONE
  • Michael Dease “Mirror Image” from Never More Here
    • Trombonist Michael Dease pays fitting tribute to his ongoing relationship with the music of Charlie Parker on his aptly entitled album “Never More Here.” The album  seeks to provide a musical compendium of Bird’s message and his
personal influence on Dease and other members of the Jazz diaspora via the compositions and performances of several key proteges and devotees of his music. To provide assistance in bringing his vision to fruition, Dease assembled an all-star lineup of musicians including alto saxophonist Steve Wilson, pianist Renee Rosnes, bassist Gerald Cannon, and powerhouse drummer Lewis Nash, along with a number of special guests.
    • Posi-tone
  • Trevor Giancola “Report Card” from Sonnet 18
    • In the spring of 2016, Toronto guitarist Trevor Giancola assembled his dream band: a quartet featuring Seamus Blake, Rick Rosato, and Adam Arruda, three ex-pat Canadians making waves on the international jazz scene. The album was recorded in Toronto earlier this year.
